Due to demand we are now available to assist clients in co-ordinating their own packages. Self co-ordinating your own package is not for everyone, however for those clients who do not have high needs and would prefer to choose their own services and carers, this is ideal. Self co-ordinating your own package leaves more money in the ‘bucket’ to use on care and services.
Choice Home Help can recommend An Approved Provider that charges a flat 15% to manage your package. They look after the government reporting and paperwork side of things. Then the only additional things you have to pay for are your carers and your services/products/equipment. We have been working closely with them for a year and can strongly suggest you consider co-ordinating your own package.
This is where you have two choices.
- You can manage your own package, where you book and pay for everything yourself. This is then reimbursed by your Approved Provider within a few days after forwarding your receipts. You can easily manage this yourself if you have low needs. You will only then pay the Approved Providers flat rate fee [15%].
- Alternatively, Choice Home Help can assist you with co-ordinating your package by providing you with carers and services from your local community. We have a flat monthly fee of 5% of your package. Our companion care and domestic services are very reasonably priced. We can also forward your invoices to the Approved Provider for payment, however we do NOT add any mark-up or processing fees to your OWN spending.
Choice Home Help are pleased to offer companion care, social support, transport and gardening services. If you need daily personal care with short notice assistance, then we strongly recommend you sign up with one of the many Full Service services available.
Our fee for companion care, social support is $65 per hour. Weekends and evening are charged at a slightly higher hourly rate.
Choice Home Care Services can connect you with carers in your area. Rest assured, these carers are trained, have their own insurance and police checks and suitable to provide services. The advantage of engaging Choice Home Help to assist with your self-managed package is that we pay your carers and the Approved Provider reimburses us. This means you never have to put your hand in you pocket!
Please note, that if you are a full pensioner and don’t have any other income stream or major assets then you will not be required to contribute a an income tested fee to access your package. Choosing to self-manage your own package leaves you much more money in your ‘bucket’ to spend on services and equipment!
